Process Post #4: My Audience

While creating the content and designing the website, the sole audience I have imagined thus far has been music lovers, enjoyers, and enthusiasts. I am still deciding whether I am looking for a specific age range to cater to, but the music I have reviewed and listened to so far has been artists that a younger (teen-young adult) audience would recognize. If I find an “older” album that sparks my interest, I would absolutely review it, and maybe that would expand my audience, opening it up to an older generation.

As for the website’s design, I have stuck to a more minimalistic design as it would be manageable. Keeping it simple, sticking to similar fonts, and having a unified theme of colours make the site somewhat appealing to a younger audience. When I look for a website to read, I do not search for one with many things going on at once on the page, whether it be loud colours, multiple moving images, or random images composed together. I want the attention directed to the reviews, so I included the album cover to act as the feature image on the website, so when the new review is posted, they will see the cover art when scrolling on the site. When writing the posts themselves, I keep it relatively casual in terms of the language used. I want to give insight and my opinion but not overcomplicate what I say, and as of right now, it is a good balance.
